A quest of the west... create a functional belt buckle like you’ve never seen in this exciting new class! Students will expand their skills in piercing and sawing, filing, soldering, riveting, and the mechanics of belt buckles. At the end of the day, students will leave class with a fully functional belt buckle with their own unique design.
We will cover:
- Complex piercing and sawing
- Filing and sanding
- Soldering buckle findings
- Scoring and bending
- Polishing and finish work
Class is 8 hours with a 30-minute break for lunch. We have a mini fridge and microwave, a separate lunch room and a deck with a mountain view where you can relax on your break. We also have Nespresso coffee, tea, and snacks available for purchase.
Prerequisite: Metals 1 or equivalent
Tools and Materials:
Tools needed: You will need to bring your own KN95 or N95 mask to use while polishing. If you do not have one, we have them for sale for $6 (limit 1 per person).
Materials Fee: $25 which will include the metal for the buckle and studio materials. Cash, check, or Venmo accepted; payable to instructor
