Learn how to create colorful jewelry with your own etched designs. Champlevé is a centuries-old technique in which carvings or grooves in metal created through processes such as etching, are then filled with vitreous enamel.

In this 1-day workshop, you will learn how to etch copper and then  “fill” the carved spaces with enamel powder. At the end of the day, you will have created a beautiful, a one-of-a-kind pendant.

Students will learn:

  • Etching
  • Cleaning metal for enamel application
  • Enamel application for Champlevé (wet packing)
  • Kiln use (safety and maintenance)
  • Firing of enamels with a focus on timing and technique
