Always wanted to work with gold but is the price of gold a deterrent? In this one-day jewelry class, students will learn the ancient Korean technique of Keum-Boo; which is applying thin sheets of 24k gold to silver using heat.
Students will learn how to prep sterling silver and fine silver, apply 24k gold foil, and use patina to create black and gold contrast.
At the end of class, students will have completed a pair of dangle earrings and a pendant and if time allows, a ring.
Class duration: 6 hours with a 20-minute break for lunch.
Prerequisite: None; though if you wish to make a ring, you will need to have taken Metals 1
