Enamel, copper, fine silver
Measures 1.25" diameter
The image of the heel in this piece is an original drawing that has been etched into copper. The recessed areas of the design were then filled with enamel powder. The enamel then melts and fuses to the metal through the method of torch firing.
The images of women used in Kenzie's designs are pulled from vintage ads from the 1940s and 50s. These women are shown selling household products usually accompanied by a tagline that mentions the expectation that she become the perfect wife and homemaker. In an effort to give power back to these women, she honors other symbols in this time period.
