Bring your partner, bestie, or your lovely self and learn the art of enameling! In this fast and fun class, you will be learning the method of fusing glass to metal without a kiln to create your own enameled jewelry. Enameling is one of the few ways to apply color to metal and create beautifully complex designs. Cost includes $20 materials fee.
No experience required; all levels welcome!
Students will create a custom pendant, pair of earrings, or key chain and will learn:
- Selection of type of metal and enamels
- Cleaning metal for application
- How to apply enamels
- Torch use
- Clean-up and graphite application
Class duration: 2 hours
Tools will be provided. You need to bring a N95 or KN95 mask to wear when working with powdered enamel.

About the instructor, Kenzie Nelson
Kenzie has been enveloped by art and art making her entire life and loves nothing more than connecting with others through the act of creating. After taking an introduction to metalsmithing class in her first year of college, she became infatuated with the medium. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Colorado State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a concentration in metalsmithing and jewelry making. She loves sharing her passion with others and has teaching experience ranging from K-12 art, museum education classes, as well as collegiate level metalsmithing courses.
