Because it's the right thing to do. All the metals we use are refined or recycled, we use non-toxic chemicals (i.e. pickle and flux), and we recycle everything that is possible to recycle.
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.
Creating a positive, drama-free environment
Let's face it: no one likes to hear a teacher lose her cool, and no one likes to hear or be the subject of gossip. We're committed to creating and maintaining a supportive, positive, and professional environment.
It's apparent that we all need to be doing more. So, we are committing to donating a portion of our profits to We Wield the Hammer, a non-profit based in Oakland, CA, that aims to "identify, train, track and support young women of African descent who might not otherwise choose a career as a metalsmith." Donations will be made year-end, or when we get wildly busy, they'll be made on a quarterly basis.
Doing the right thing.
All we have is our reputation, so that said, we clearly state our policies so you know what to expect from us, and we'll go up and beyond to provide an exceptional experience.
