F.A.Q. for Classes

If you've signed up for a class, you have automatically agreed to our policies as stated below.  If you have any questions, please contact Jen.

  • Class dates and times are stated on each listing. To be able to complete the projects, you must attend the class in its entirety as no makeups will be given.
  • Class begins on time. Doors open 10 minutes before class start time. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early so you can complete our waiver and get situated at your workstation. Hand sanitizer will be at each jeweler's bench for you to use as often as you like.
  • LOCATION: Our address is 100 E. Cleveland St, Lafayette, CO 80026. Please use Google Maps (not Apple Maps) for specific directions. Our Metalsmithing classroom (sign says "Studio Classroom") and  is the L-shaped light gray building just north on Community Restaurant, and the Gallery building is the long rectangle building facing S. Public Rd.
  • FOOD: You may bring food for lunch (or dinner if an evening class) as we have a full fridge and microwave. There are multiple restaurants within walking distance from our buildings; we have information about each place in our studio with QR codes for menus.
  • DRESS CODE: You must wear the following (failure to comply will result in you not being able to participate in class)
  1. Closed-toe shoes (sneakers or boots)
  2. Short sleeve cotton-dominant shirt (or long sleeves that can be rolled up). No lycra/spandex
  3. Long pants: jeans or cotton-dominant pants. No yoga pants/shorts/skirts/dresses
  4. Long hair must be tied back
    • TOOLS and MATERIALS:  Tools are provided. Fees for materials (i.e. metals) depend on which class you are taking, and is due at the beginning of class. Please reference the class listing that you signed up for. It can be paid by cash (exact change), a check payable to Silver Peak Studio, or Venmo.
    • Also: there are no weapons allowed in our studio. Our studio is very safe and in a low traffic area, with a well-lit parking lot. Please leave pepper spray, knives, guns, etc. in the car or at home.
    • No headphones/earbuds are to be worn during class
    • We have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to smoking, vaping, alcohol consumption, and/or drug use. If there is any suspicion that you may be under the influence of a controlled substance, you will be asked to leave class immediately.
      • Lastly, if you have not-so-great eyesight, readers or an optivisor are recommended. We now have optivisors available for loan which have up to 3.5x magnification, but if you need magnification that is more powerful, please bring your own.
