Have you always wanted to try wire-work or would like to advance your skills in the craft? This class will cover many basic and intermediate techniques of wire work. We will use simple, hand-held tools to shape wire into a cute focal (the ribbon bow). We will then connect the bow with additional design elements, a connector and a bead with wire-wrapped loop, to create a pair of earrings with movement and multi-dimensionality.

Details:
  • Saturday, March 8, from 10:00-12:00
  • 2 contact hours, ages 13+ located at 100 E. Cleveland St. Lafayette 80026

  • Cost includes materials for wire (color-coated, non-tarnish wire with copper core), sterling silver earring hooks, and 2 Swarovski bi-cone crystals. You will have the option of rose-gold colored wire or gold-colored wire, as well as a few color options for the crystals.

About the instructor, Jessica Regner
Jessica Regner headshot
Jessica Regner’s interest in making jewelry began when her oldest son was a toddler. Motherhood made her stir-crazy, and she needed a creative outlet. Realizing that she couldn’t concentrate on anything without frequent interruption, Jessica began keeping a bead tray on a high counter and picking it up during quiet moments.

Jessica’s initial attempts at making jewelry were typical of beginner work, but she was determined to learn and fortunate to find an outstanding instructor and mentor in Wan Norby, currently an instructor at Nomad Beads in Boulder. Jessica took classes with Wan for four years and has also pursued her craft through independent study, as well as close examination of numerous books and online resources.

At this point, Jessica has been making wirework and bead-woven jewelry for eleven years. She is pleased by how her work and her style have developed over time. She has sold pieces through BJ Designs of Marble Falls, TX, and now Silver Peak Gallery and studio. Jessica believes that art is therapeutic and loves sharing her passion for creating with others.

Jessica has been a resident of Lafayette, CO for the past 18 years. She is the mother of two boys, ages 13 and 9. She loves reading, creative writing, gardening, cooking, going for long walks, and spending time with family and close friends.
