Prong Setting Faceted Stones - February 8
Have you ever wondered how jewelers set stones into a prong setting without crushing the stones or the prongs?
You will learn how to prong set round stones. Not only will you learn how to determine stone size for the proper mounting, you will also learn how to properly and securely set the stone without damaging the prongs.

- Saturday, February 8, 9:00-5:00
- 8 contact hours, ages 14+ at the Silver Peak Studio Classroom located at 100.5 E. Cleveland St. Lafayette 80026
- # students: 3 minimum, 6 maximum
- Materials kit fee is $80 which includes practice wheel of 17 settings, 1 sterling silver ring in a size 7, and CZ's . Payment of material fee is due at the beginning of class. Cash, check, or Venmo accepted.
- Each student will work at their own dedicated jeweler's bench.
- Prerequisite: Metals 1, Intro to Metalsmithing or equivalent. Prior stone setting experience recommended.
- We will have optivisors on loan but if you need something more powerful than 3x, then you must bring your own.
The last day to cancel your reservation for a refund or transfer ($25 transfer fee applies) is January 25, 2025.

About the Instructor, Cheyenne Hughes
Cheyenne is a Denver native who's been practicing jewelry making since 2009. Over that time he's been fortunate enough to have apprenticed under the accomplished jeweler/blacksmith Ira Sherman. That 6 year
apprenticeship landed him a job as a bench jeweler working for platinum and gold expert John Sholl of J.F. Sholl Fine Jewelry in Littleton, CO.
Cheyenne is currently running his own jewelry studio in Denver where he offers casting and other jewelry production services to the general public as well as other jewelers.
